​HEALTH PROGRAMS

The Health Ministry was organized under the leadership of Shirley Hadley, RN July 9, 2017.  The Health Ministry was in partnership with the Asheville Buncombe Institute of Parity Achievement (ABIPA) to assist with the underserved and minority population in Asheville and surrounding areas.  Through this partnership we participated with Healthy Heart classes, Health & Wellness for Seniors, Infant Mortality Awareness, A Six-week Chronic Disease Management class, and a Links presentation.  All  classes were open to the public and area churches. Health Ministry also participated with or attended:

• Know your numbers events
• Dementia friendly & Mental Health Classes at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church
• Hosted a Health Fair
• Hosted a Women’s GYN Cancer class
• Power of Healing presentation
• Hosted Blood Drives for the American Red Cross
• CPR, AED training & First Aide Class
• Volunteered at a Covid-19 Testing Site @ Stephen-Lee
• Purchase of hand-sanitization stations

The health ministry has also hosted a teen Summit, held Zumba classes, provides water, fruit and vegetable for meetings, and a walk-for-your health group.​
